Make Promposal Pancakes

Ingredients

• Your Favorite pancake mix.
• Your favorite toppings (strawberries, whipped cream, and maple syrup to name a few).

Directions

• Lightly grease and preheat your griddle or pan to 375 degrees or medium heat.
• In a large bowl, mix together your pancake mix and cold water. (1) cup of mix and 3/4 cups of water should make around 5-6 pancakes. The batter should be slightly lumpy. Repeat for more hotcakes!
• Pour or scoop the batter onto the pan, using approximately 1/4 cup for each pancake. Alternatively, scoop your batter into a piping bag or plastic bag and pipe the mixture onto the pan in shapes, like hearts!
• Cook until small bubbles cover the surface or until golden brown. Flip the pancake and repeat on the other side.
• Add your toppings, write yourself or someone special a message in space or syrup and dig in!

Valentine’s Day Cherry Turnovers

Ingredients

Pastry:

• 1 sheet puff pastry (thawed)
• 2 cups cherries (pitted)
• 1/2 cup sugar
• 2 tablespoons cornstarch
• 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Glaze:

• 1 large egg yolk
• 1 tablespoon water
• 1/4 cup coarse sparkling sugar

Directions

• Preheat your oven to 375 degrees. Combine your cherries and sugar in a saucepan and mash gently, then stirring in cornstarch
• Cook the cherries over medium heat for 2 minutes or until they thicken. Remove the cherries from heat and add in cinnamon.
• Roll out the pastry dough and cut into 16 equal rectangles.
• Distribute the cherry mixture in the middle of 8 pastry squares, then place the remaining dough rectangles over the top, like a sandwich. Place the turnovers on a greased baking sheet.
• Beat one egg yolk with water in a small cup. Brush onto the top of the pastry and sprinkle with coarse sugar. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown and enjoy!
